Similar to Dolby Atmos which features on the Sonos Arc, the MagniFi 2 offers a surround experience without rear satellite speakers thanks to virtual height channels. Polk says the immersive sound feels like it’s coming from above as well as around you. Providing the sound are four 3in full-range drivers and two 0.75in tweeters with Polk claiming it ‘boasts plenty of brawn to easily outperform traditional soundbars’. There’s also three HDMI ports including one with ARC (audio return channel) as well as optical input. Polk has also ensured the MagniFi 2 automatically works with Samsung, LG, Vizio, TCL, and Sony TV remotes to control volume. Michael McCole, senior product marketing manager for soundbars at Polk Audio. “Using tools like Polk Audio’s patented SDA technology, 3D Audio Mode for virtual height and Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, the MagniFi 2 soundbar is a significant step closer to a multi-channel listening experience at a much more attainable price.” The Polk MagniFi 2 joins other soundbars in the range such as the MagniFi Max and MagniFi Mini. It’s available now priced at £499, US$499, €499. You can read our review here. Tech Advisor’s Reviews Editor, Chris has been reviewing all kinds of tech for over 10 years and specialises in audio.
