This year, the ceremony has scrapped gendered categories, meaning that artists of all genders will compete against one another for the first time.

When are the Brit Awards 2022?

The Brit Awards will take place tonight, Tuesday 8 February at 8pm GMT at The O2 in London. If you’re based in the UK capital (or are prepared to travel down), then tickets for the event are on sale now.

Which channel is the Brit Awards 2022 on?

In the UK, the Brit Awards will be shown on ITV One, and coverage will last for two and a half hours. You can also get backstage coverage from 7pm GMT on ITV2 with interviews with performers, nominees and guest presenters. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that any international channels will be airing the show. However, if you’re not in the UK and still want to tune in, there is a way.

How to watch the Brit Awards 2022 online

If you’d like to watch the show in its televised format, then you can do so via the ITV catchup service. If you’re in the UK, then watching ITV One online via various devices is pretty easy. Just use the ITV Hub. Those outside the UK will need to use a VPN to access the player. Our current top VPN recommendation is NordVPN, but take a look at our  full VPN ranking for further options. Once you’ve chosen a VPN, set it to the UK, and then you should be able to access the ITV Hub. If you’d like to know more details on how to do this, then read our detailed guide to watching ITV Hub from abroad.  Another way to watch the Brits online is via the official YouTube livestream. Red carpet coverage will start at 6pm – you can tune into this via the video below:

The Brits state that the YouTube livestream for the actual ceremony will be available for ‘international fans’, and will be presented by AJ Odudu and Reece Parkinson. The blog post does state that performances won’t air live on this stream – they will instead be put on YouTube once the show has finished.

Who is hosting the Brit Awards 2022?

Comedian Jack Whitehall has stepped down this year and is being replaced by Mo Gilligan, who has been seen on The Masked Singer and The Big Breakfast and has an upcoming Netflix comedy special later this year.

Meanwhile, backstage coverage will be hosted by Clara Amfo and Maya Jama.
